How to Exclude Your IP from Hubspot Reports and Tracking

If you’re an affiliate marketer, chances are you’ve come across Hubspot CRM at some point. Hubspot CRM + Hubspot Marketing Hub is a popular marketing tool that allows users to track their own website’s traffic and analytics.

However, if you’re running your own affiliate marketing business, you may not want Hubspot CRM to track your personal activity on your website.

In this article, we’ll show you how to exclude your IP from Hubspot CRM reports and tracking. And remember you'll need to do this for each of the devices you might choose to view your website i.e. mobile devices, laptops, desktops.

It’s best practice not to skew your website data and reporting with visits you make to your own website pages.

First things first, what is an IP address?

An IP address is a unique identifier assigned to every device that connects to the internet. When you visit a website, that website’s server can see your device’s IP address. This is how Hubspot CRM is able to track your activity on their platform.

Now that we know what an IP address is, let’s get into how you can exclude your IP from Hubspot reports and tracking.

To do this, you’ll need to find your IP address and then add it to the Hubspot settings “Do Not Track” list. Here’s how:

Step by Step Guide

  1. To find your IP address, head over to WhatIsMyIPAddress.com. On this website, you’ll see your public IP address listed at the top of the page. Copy this down somewhere safe as we’ll need it later
  2. Next, go to the Hubspot CRM login page and log into your account
  3. Once you’re logged in, click on the cog icon (Settings) in the top-right corner of the page and then select Tracking&Analytics>TrackingCode>Advanced Tracking from the drop-down menu on the left hand side
  4. Scroll down to the Exclude Traffic section and click on IP Addresses to Exclude field.
  5. In the IP Addresses to Exclude field, paste or type in the IP address that you copied down earlier from WhatIsMyIPAddress.com. Then click “Save.”

That’s it!

You’ve now successfully excluded your IP from Hubspot reports and tracking!
